[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Park Hee-eun] Attention is focusing on the story behind the scar on Lim Young-woong's face.
On the 14th, during the live broadcast of the final ranking announcement of 'Mr. Trot,' Lim Young-woong, who was ranked 2nd in the interim tally, won the 'Mr. Trot' championship with 3,890 points by receiving 1,200 points through real-time national voting.
During the live stage that day, the scar on Lim Young-woong's face was closely zoomed in, drawing attention to his past story. On his left cheek, there is a diagonal scar different from the nasolabial fold.
It is known that when Lim Young-woong was a child, his face was injured by a glass bottle stuck in a wall, but because he had no money, he could not receive proper surgery, leaving a large scar.
Despite the situation, it is said that Lim Young-woong told his mother, who was applying medicine at the time, "There is a Nike on my face. It looks like a dimple."
He stated, "The scar was a complex, but I think I was able to overcome it through 'Mr. Trot.' Because many people embraced it and liked it."
He added, "When I had surgery before, they said the nerve would die. So I was told I could only smile halfway, but fortunately, the nerve survived," and continued, "I have to put more strength on the side with the scar to smile evenly. So making facial expressions is not easy."
Meanwhile, during the final live broadcast of 'Mr. Trot' aired on the 14th, over 7.7 million real-time text vote calls were received, causing a delay in tallying. As a result, the final winner could not be announced live, causing a broadcast accident.
In a newly scheduled special live broadcast, the 'Mr. Trot' production team announced the winner and final rankings, stating that excluding invalid votes, the valid votes totaled 5,428,900.
