[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] One resident of Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On the 13th, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, announced that A (50, male), a self-employed person living in Songdo-dong, tested positive in a COVID-19 specimen test.
It was confirmed that Mr. A had dinner together on the 6th of this month in Mapo-gu with B (56, male), a COVID-19 confirmed patient from Gangbuk-gu, Seoul. When he developed symptoms of dry cough and throat irritation from the morning of the 11th, five days later, he was advised by Mr. B to get tested and visited the Incheon drive-thru screening center that morning, where he tested positive.
Mr. A, who lives alone, has no history of visiting Daegu or any connection with Shincheonji, and is currently being isolated and treated after being transferred to Incheon Medical Center. Regarding Mr. B, the confirmed patient from Gangbuk-gu, it is known that he has a history of traveling to the Philippines, but the exact infection route has not been confirmed.
A Yeonsu-gu official explained, "We are investigating Mr. A's exact movements and infection route through epidemiological investigation," and added, "Disinfection work is being carried out in his residence and surrounding areas." The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Incheon area has increased to 28.
