[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 13th that it will hold the ‘Child-Friendly City Dong-gu Slogan and UCC Contest’ to share the meaning and value of the child-friendly city Dong-gu with residents and to raise interest.
The contest will be divided into slogan and UCC creation and production categories.
First, the slogan should be ▲a term that encapsulates the vision of a happy Dong-gu for children ▲a term easy for residents to remember ▲a novel and original term that can differentiate from other cities and provinces. The UCC should be ▲content expressing a safe, happy, and healthy village for children and adolescents ▲content expressing a livable village where children can play freely.
Eligibility for submission: anyone with creative ideas interested in child-friendly cities can participate in the slogan category, and individuals or teams of up to 4 children and adolescents can participate in the UCC category.
The submission period is from the 23rd of this month to the 3rd of next month, and detailed information can be found on the Dong-gu Office website.
The submitted works will be reviewed and selected by the end of next month, and prizes will be awarded to individuals or teams in each category as follows: one grand prize winner will receive 500,000 KRW, one excellence prize winner will receive 300,000 KRW, and two encouragement prize winners will each receive 100,000 KRW.
Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu said, “I hope this contest will be an opportunity to reestablish the status of the child-friendly city,” adding, “Through various ideas, we will create a specialized Dong-gu type child-friendly city where children and adolescents want to live.”
