[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Shinhan Bank announced on the 13th that it will carry out the 'Flower Sharing and Rice Cake Sharing Campaign' to empathize with the difficulties caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to overcome them together in celebration of White Day.
This campaign was conducted to help flower farmers who continue to face difficulties due to the spread of COVID-19 and the declining local commercial districts, as well as to support employees who are protecting customer-centered workplaces.
Similar to the bouquet sharing campaign held on Valentine's Day, February 14th, the campaign is autonomously conducted mainly by the bank's opinion leader group, and especially inspired by the white rice cake (baekseolgi) on 'White' Day, rice cake sharing was added.
This campaign is carried out by delivering flowers and rice cakes as a token of gratitude and support not only to employees who silently protect customer-centered workplaces under difficult conditions but also to the security team leaders and cleaning staff working together at branches who are striving for quarantine.
Jin Okdong, President of Shinhan Bank, sympathized with the purpose of this autonomously conducted campaign on White Day and gifted flowers to employees in Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, which are special management areas for COVID-19, as well as to customer service center staff who are doing their best behind the scenes.
A Shinhan Bank official said, "We hope this campaign will be of some help to flower farmers and local commercial districts facing difficulties and bring a small hope to employees under tough conditions," adding, "We will continue various activities so that customers and employees can overcome the crisis together."
