GS25 convenience store parcel service announced that its half-price delivery service has shortened the delivery time by one day.
Launched by GS Postbox, the half-price delivery is the first in Korea to use the convenience store's own infrastructure to offer ultra-low shipping rates (1,600 KRW (~500g), 1,800 KRW (~1kg), 2,100 KRW (~10kg)) without additional distance-based fees, along with 365-day year-round delivery service.
Meeting the needs of consumers whose parcels are not large, who find it difficult to receive parcels at home, or who want to reduce delivery costs, the half-price delivery service has seen a surge of more than five times since its launch in March last year.
According to GS Postbox, after gathering customer feedback requesting shorter delivery times, the delivery period has been reduced from a maximum of 4 days to 3 days, shortening it by one day.
With this reduction in delivery time, consumers can now enjoy affordable costs and shortened delivery periods, receiving parcel services comparable to regular delivery services year-round.
Additionally, GS25 half-price delivery accepts and delivers parcels even on Sundays, so during weekends and holidays, it can deliver faster than regular parcel services. It is the only parcel service in Korea that delivers on Sundays.
A GS Postbox (CVSnet) representative said, “As usage has surged, we are making great efforts to meet customer needs by shortening delivery times and providing various events to offer the best service.”
Meanwhile, GS Postbox is running an event from March 1 to 31, offering a 300 KRW discount on shipping fees for members using the ‘half-price delivery’ service, and giving a Vita 500 to all customers who write a review.
