Gyeongnam Office of Education Promotes Anti-Corruption and Integrity Policies Including Public Interest Reporting Activation and Abuse of Power Eradication Gyeongnam Office of Education Building Exterior


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] On the 11th, the Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education announced that it has established and will implement the 2020 Anti-Corruption and Integrity Policy Promotion Plan to achieve "Trustworthy and Honest Gyeongnam Education for Residents."


As the four major promotion strategies for this, the Gyeongnam Office of Education presented ▲ Strengthening infrastructure for realizing honest Gyeongnam education ▲ Establishing a transparent and fair integrity system ▲ Spreading a happy integrity culture for all ▲ Creating an integrity Gyeongnam together with the local community, and prepared 13 key tasks and 37 detailed promotion tasks.


In particular, it selected corruption prevention systems, fairness of work instructions, personnel, and budget execution areas, which were relatively weak in last year's integrity evaluation, as key improvement tasks and plans to activate public interest reporting.


In addition, it plans to develop a "School Work Rationalization Manual" to reduce unnecessary work and distribute a guide to eradicate gapjil to establish a culture of mutual respect and consideration, while implementing a pre-consulting audit system to prevent passive administration and create a public service culture that serves the people.


To improve trust in personnel at the education site, it will comply with personnel notice and standards, transparently disclose the procedures, and continuously monitor budget execution status to strengthen guidance and inspection to prevent improper use of expenditure budgets.


Park Jong-hoon, Superintendent of Gyeongnam Education, said, "We will actively promote integrity policies that can communicate and empathize with the field to realize future education based on integrity."


Earlier, the Gyeongnam Office of Education achieved a comprehensive integrity grade of 2 in the "2019 Public Institution Integrity Measurement Results" announced by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
