[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 9th at 3 p.m., Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, discussed emergency measures related to COVID-19 with Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon and other district mayors during the ‘Mayor-District Mayor Emergency Countermeasure Video Conference.’

Participating in the meeting via video from the 5th floor Planning Situation Room of Dongdaemun-gu Office, Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol explained the ‘Good Rent Relay Campaign’ currently being promoted in Dongdaemun-gu. While the district is making efforts independently, he requested that the city government take a strong interest and support the campaign to spread it to all districts in order to share the hardships of small business owners.

The meeting discussed overall matters related to social distancing (‘temporary pause’) and COVID-19 response.

Dongdaemun-gu plans to minimize gaps caused by social distancing by implementing △comprehensive support for vulnerable groups △suppression of small business damages based on the ‘Good Rent Relay Campaign’ and low-interest emergency loans △expansion of telecommuting and activation of video conferencing.

Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol of Dongdaemun-gu stated, “The district is mobilizing all administrative resources to block the spread of COVID-19,” and added, “Although many difficulties are being faced due to COVID-19, I believe that if everyone works together, we can overcome them.”
