[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Thirteen confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in bulk at a call center in Guro-gu, Seoul.


At around 9 p.m. on the 9th, the Guro District Office announced on its website that "the workplace of a confirmed case (resident of Nowon-gu) who tested positive for COVID-19 on the 8th is the call center on the 11th floor of the Korea Building in Sindorim-dong, Guro-gu," and added, "On that day, a total of 207 people, including 148 call center employees and 59 trainees, were placed under self-quarantine, and urgent COVID-19 diagnostic tests were conducted on 54 of them, resulting in 13 positive cases (7 residents of Guro-gu)."


At 8:03 p.m. on the same day, the National Disaster Safety Portal announced on its website, "(Guro District Office) 7 additional confirmed cases among residents in the district (working on the 11th floor of the Korea Building in Sindorim-dong) have been reported. Detailed information will be disclosed on the website later, so please participate in the Pause Campaign." This information was also communicated to residents of Guro-gu and nearby areas via emergency text messages.


The Guro District Office plans to provide a briefing on the confirmed cases on the morning of the 10th.
