[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] News has emerged that singer Lee Young-hyun, formerly of the group Big Mama, and her husband Mr. A have been sued for fraud. In response, Lee Young-hyun's side stated that they are "verifying the facts."
A representative for Lee Young-hyun told multiple media outlets on the 9th, "We are reviewing the situation after seeing the reports," adding, "We will make a statement after confirming the facts."
Earlier that day, Sports Today reported that Lee Young-hyun and her husband Mr. A were sued for fraud by Mr. B.
According to the report, the couple borrowed approximately 230 million won from Mr. B to pay singer Mr. C's performance fee but failed to repay the amount.
It is known that the couple originally planned to complete repayment by December of last year but missed the deadline. In January, they reportedly issued a new IOU and postponed the repayment date.
Meanwhile, Lee Young-hyun received a special award at the 2000 Gangbyeon Music Festival and debuted as a member of Big Mama in 2003, continuing active activities. She married Mr. A, an entertainment industry official one year her junior, in 2013.
