[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] SC First Bank announced on the 9th that it conducted an employee fundraising campaign to support recovery from the damage caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and donated approximately 132.5 million won to the Community Chest of Korea.

The bank raised 66,261,000 won from employees, including the labor union, between the 3rd and 5th of this month. In addition, the bank contributed the same amount to show its support for the employees' voluntary participation in the donation.

The donation will be used for medical support to aid COVID-19 damage recovery. It will also be used to purchase masks, hand sanitizers, and emergency food supplies for vulnerable groups such as low-income families and children. Priority will be given to urgent support in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.

Park Jong-bok, CEO of SC First Bank, said, “Employees voluntarily launched the fundraising campaign and showed a heartwarming scene by delivering messages of hope and various support supplies to branch employees located in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions,” adding, “The bank also respected and joined this spirit by donating an amount equal to the employees' fundraising.”
