[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] A woman in her 60s confirmed with the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) caused a disturbance by assaulting a nurse and fled, but was later recaptured.
According to Daegu City on the 8th, patient A, a 67-year-old female Shincheonji Church member, caused a disturbance while being transferred to the Kyungpook National University Living Treatment Center and was transported to Daegu Medical Center.
During the transfer to the hospital room, Ms. A grabbed the head of a nurse wearing protective clothing and fled. Although police were present at the scene, they could not respond because Ms. A was a confirmed patient and was not wearing protective clothing.
Police officers wearing protective clothing apprehended Ms. A near Daegu Medical Center around 9:20 p.m., and she was reportedly re-admitted to a hospital room there.
Health authorities plan to file charges against Ms. A for obstruction of business, assault, and violation of the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act after legal review. A Daegu city official stated, "We are confirming the exact details of the incident."
