'Lotte Duty Free Extends Work-from-Home Until the 11th for COVID-19 Response' Lotte Duty Free

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Lotte Duty Free announced on the 8th that it will extend remote work until the 11th.

To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), Lotte Duty Free implemented remote work for headquarters employees from the 28th of last month until the 6th of this month. Since the spread of COVID-19 has not stopped, the company plans to extend remote work until the 11th.

Lotte Duty Free plans to use this pilot implementation of the remote work system as an opportunity to not only prevent the spread of COVID-19 but also to review the expansion of the future smart work system.

In addition, Lotte Duty Free is diversifying work systems to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect employees' health by expanding options and minimizing work congestion. Since the 4th of last month, five downtown Lotte Duty Free stores have shortened their business hours. Since the 15th of last month, a short-term leave system of two weeks to one month has been implemented for applicants who wish to take leave for health or family care reasons.

From the 9th to the 31st, a four-day workweek system will be introduced for headquarters executives and employees who wish to participate for three weeks. In addition, flexible working hours with varied commuting times and a selective working system allowing employees to adjust their monthly working days are being expanded to reduce congestion among office workers.

Furthermore, to manage employees' health, the staff cafeteria has organized an immunity-boosting menu to provide healthy meals. Dining times are adjusted by department to limit the number of people gathering at once, and partitions have been installed on cafeteria tables to prevent infections among employees.

Meanwhile, Lotte Duty Free formed an emergency response committee chaired by CEO Lee Gap on January 24 and is operating a continuous response system. To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health of customers and employees, Lotte Duty Free is conducting daily disinfection of stores once and sanitization six times a day, mandatory temperature checks and mask-wearing for all employees, and providing masks and temperature checks for customers using the stores.
