[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) is conducting the ‘2020 Excellent Volunteer Program Contest Project.’
Through this project, the district aims to discover and support innovative and diverse volunteer programs to activate everyday volunteering with more residents participating.
The project period is seven months from April to October this year, and the contest fields include all areas related to volunteering such as △social welfare △community development △environment △education.
Eligible participants are volunteer camps or volunteer organizations registered on the ‘1365 Volunteer Portal’ that are active within Dongdaemun-gu.
Volunteer organizations wishing to participate can download the application form from the announcement section on the Dongdaemun-gu Office website (www.ddm.go.kr), fill it out, and submit it either by visiting the Welfare Policy Division on the 3rd floor of Dongdaemun-gu Office in person or via email (aozora2@ddm.go.kr).
The application deadline is the 13th. However, depending on the spread of COVID-19, the application period may be extended, and any changes will be announced on the Dongdaemun-gu Office website (www.ddm.go.kr).
The district plans to select supported organizations through a review committee in March and provide up to 1 million KRW per organization. The total project budget is 10 million KRW.
Additionally, to ensure thorough program operation by supported organizations, evaluations will be conducted, and organizations receiving excellent evaluations will be awarded commendations from the mayor at the end of the year.
