[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] The Life Insurance Social Contribution Committee announced on the 6th that it will support 100,000 masks worth 200 million KRW to the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions to help overcome the COVID-19 crisis early.
Targeting elderly living alone with mobility difficulties and disaster-vulnerable groups burdened by mask purchases in Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas, the masks will be delivered directly through the Disaster Relief Association in cooperation with local governments.
Chairman Shin Yong-gil said, "Although everyone is facing difficult and challenging times due to COVID-19, if all citizens unite, we can wisely overcome the current crisis," adding, "We hope that the small sincerity of the life insurance industry will help promptly manage the national disaster and stabilize society as soon as possible."
