On the 5th, the TV Chosun entertainment program 'Tomorrow is Mr. Trot' aired the scene where the finalists were chosen after completing the semifinal missions.
In the first round of the semifinals that day, Lim Young-woong took first place. Following him were Young Tak in second place, Jang Min-ho in third, Jung Dong-won in fourth, and Lee Chan-won in fifth. Kim Ho-joong ranked eighth, adding tension as he was not among the seven to secure a final ticket.
The second round of the semifinals was a one-on-one song battle. The first to take the stage were fifth place Lee Chan-won and eleventh place Na Tae-joo. The two performed Nam Jin's "Namja Dying" with high completeness. The scores were Lee Chan-won 300 points and Na Tae-joo 0 points, with the masters unanimously voting for Lee Chan-won.
Next, eighth place Kim Ho-joong and twelfth place Ryu Ji-kwang took the stage. They chose Seol Woon-do's "Once Again." As a result, out of 300 master points, Kim Ho-joong received 240 points and Ryu Ji-kwang 60 points.
Sixth place Kim Soo-chan selected first place Lim Young-woong as his opponent. The two chose Joo Hyun-mi's "Crying and Regretting."
However, the result was a unanimous vote for Lim Young-woong with 300 points, and Kim Soo-chan received 0 points. After seeing the scores, Lim Young-woong shed tears out of sympathy.
After all the performances ended, the seven finalists were confirmed. Combining the master scores and audience votes, the finalists selected were first place Lim Young-woong, second place Lee Chan-won, third place Young Tak, fourth place Jung Dong-won, fifth place Kim Ho-joong, sixth place Kim Hee-jae, and seventh place Jang Min-ho.
