Late Night Crime-Prone Area Relief and Warm Messages of Comfort to Local Residents
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Recently, Jeongneung 2-dong in Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) utilized an empty space in the community center to install LED logo lights that give hope to residents.
The 'Hope Message Logo Light,' installed in 2019 through the resident participation budget, was set up to improve crime-prone areas late at night and to deliver messages of hope to the increasingly harsh local community, helping to heal residents' emotions.
Recently, to comfort the depressed local economy and residents' spirits due to COVID-19, four logo lights with messages?'Cheering for you, stay strong today too!', 'Our daughter, our son, you worked hard today. Always fighting!', 'You are the main character on the stage called life', and 'COVID-19 prevention guidelines'?are lit from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Jeong Seong-jin, head of Jeongneung 2-dong, said, “I hope the healing messages on the community center wall can play a role in soothing the hearts of residents who have been hurt, even if just a little.”
A local resident who happened to see the logo lights while passing by expressed gratitude, saying, “The message unexpectedly gave me strength on my way home after a tough day.”
