[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is making efforts to revitalize the local economy by visiting restaurants where COVID-19 confirmed cases have been reported and dining there.

On the 4th, Gwanak-gu Mayor Park Junhee visited a restaurant located in Nakseongdae-dong with about 30 staff members and had lunch. This place had been visited by a COVID-19 confirmed case, and after the movement path was disclosed, anxiety spread among citizens, causing significant difficulties in business operations.

The restaurant owner said, "After rumors spread that a confirmed case had visited, we experienced a difficult time as customers stopped coming for a while. However, some passing citizens deliberately stopped by the store to cheer us on, and following the previous visit by health center staff, today the district office came as a group, which gives us great strength. Business is gradually stabilizing."

On the same day, about 30 Gwanak-gu office employees visited another restaurant located in Euncheon-dong, which had suffered business damage due to being known as a place visited by another confirmed case, and had lunch there.

Both restaurants thoroughly disinfected the interior, exterior, and surrounding areas immediately after being disclosed as places visited by confirmed cases. They actively cooperated by closing the restaurants for several days to prevent possible spread of infection.

Mayor Park Junhee said, "Places visited by confirmed cases have been thoroughly disinfected, including the surrounding area, so they are actually the safest. Citizens can use them with confidence," and added, "I thank the restaurant owners who actively cooperated by allowing their business names to be disclosed to ease citizens' concerns, and I promise to continue visiting with district office staff until business stabilizes again."
