[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] As concerns about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection among domestic celebrities who recently visited Italy have grown, the celebrities have actively issued clarifications.

From the 19th to the 24th of last month, the Milan Fashion Week in Italy was attended by domestic celebrities such as Han Ye-seul, Park Min-young, Chungha, and makeup artist Jung Saem-mool.

On the 2nd, makeup artist Jung Saem-mool posted on her Instagram, "Many people have been worried about COVID-19, so I am writing this post. I have not contracted COVID-19. I have been spending almost all my time with my children, making up for the time I was busy and couldn't be with them. Once again, I want to say that I am healthy."

She continued, "Fortunately, our staff who accompanied my beloved Chungha on her Milan business trip last week all tested negative. I did not attend Milan. I sincerely hope for a speedy recovery for those who have been confirmed positive."

Han Ye-seul clarified regarding concerns about COVID-19 infection, stating that "there are no abnormal signs in my health."

Han Ye-seul's agency told multiple media outlets, "We did not encounter the staff members who tested positive in Italy, nor did our paths overlap. If there had been any contact or issues, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention would have contacted us. None of our staff members have been suspected of COVID-19 or are awaiting test results after returning. Both Han Ye-seul and the staff show no abnormal health signs. If there were any, they would get tested immediately."

Park Min-young, who also attended Milan Fashion Week, stated that her health condition is fine.

Park Min-young's agency explained, "There was no overlap with confirmed patients in terms of flights, accommodations, routes, or staff, and there are no symptoms. We inquired at the health center for a proactive response, but we were told that testing is not required and to monitor the situation. Although she is not currently subject to quarantine, we are minimizing her movements and schedule to ensure thorough precautions. Also, while her health is fine, filming for the drama 'If the Weather Is Good, I Will Find You' will not proceed this week as a precaution."

Meanwhile, as of 9 a.m. on the 3rd, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Italy stands at 1,577, with 34 deaths.
