SC Jeil Bank Launches Employee Donation Campaign to Support COVID-19 Relief Efforts

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] SC First Bank announced on the 3rd that it will conduct a voluntary donation campaign among its employees until the 5th to support infection prevention and relief supplies for health-vulnerable groups exposed to the rapid spread risk of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.

This campaign aims to participate in the government's and the public's efforts to prevent and respond to the spread of COVID-19 by purchasing supplies to support the heavily affected areas and socially vulnerable groups suffering from shortages of infection prevention and relief items such as masks, sanitizers, and emergency food. The donations will be delivered to the Seoul Community Chest of Korea, and the bank itself plans to join this donation campaign to share the will of the donating employees.

SC First Bank plans to purchase Daegu and Gyeongbuk regional love gift certificates worth 50 million KRW at once to help ease the worries of small business owners in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas affected by COVID-19 and to contribute slightly to revitalizing the local commercial districts.

Also, until the 31st, the bank will waive all personal internet banking and telebanking transfer fees without regional restrictions, and from the 6th to the 31st, withdrawal fees will be fully waived when withdrawing with SC First Bank cards from SC First Bank ATMs in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions. The current mobile banking transfer fee waiver benefit will also be extended until the end of the year.

SC First Bank is actively participating in various financial support measures such as deferring principal repayments on credit loans, reducing overdue interest, and postponing credit card billing to help small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners facing difficulties due to the spread of COVID-19. From the 2nd, nine branches located in Daegu and Gyeongbuk (Gumi, Daegu, Beomeo-dong, Sangju, Seongseo, Wondae-dong, Chimsan-dong, Pohang, and Jukjeon-dong branches) have implemented shortened business hours (9:30 AM to 3:30 PM).
