Strategy to Develop Hapjeong Station-Sangsu Station Area as a Hub for Design and Publishing... Public Rental Office of 52㎡ for Design and Publishing Businesses... Affordable Rent Compared to Market Price... 2-Year Contract, Up to 5 Years Usage Possible
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) is publicly recruiting companies to move into one public rental space within the Design and Publishing Special Development Promotion District.
The Mapo Design and Publishing Special Development Promotion District is an area near Hapjeong Station to Sangsu Station, where about 200 design and publishing companies gather, which the district is fostering to develop into a hub for related industries.
The key point is providing incentives in areas such as new construction and expansion of related facilities and parking lot installation standards to promote the development of design and publishing industries.
According to the designation standards and processing procedures notice for recommended businesses (planned) facilities in the Mapo Design and Publishing Special Development Promotion District established in 2018, ▲when constructing new or expanding recommended business facilities in the first phase area of the district unit plan in Hapjeong-dong, the floor area ratio can be relaxed up to 120% depending on the attraction rate of related industries, or ▲optionally, in the ‘selective vehicle entry prohibited section’ where vehicle entry is banned and parking lot installation standards are relaxed, if the mandatory parking area (at least 50㎡) is provided to the district as a public rental for 5 years (free of charge), exemption from the obligation to install an attached parking lot is possible.
The district plans to provide the public rental spaces secured in this way to related industry companies at affordable prices.
The public rental space for which tenant companies are being recruited this time is an office of 52㎡ located on Eoulmadang-ro 5-gil, and the district intends to have companies in the design and publishing recommended industries within the special development promotion district move in.
Eligibility for application includes companies designated as design and publishing recommended industries in the special development promotion district: six design-related industries including ▲interior design ▲product design ▲visual design ▲other professional design ▲commercial photography ▲advertising production, and six publishing-related industries including ▲textbook and learning material publishing ▲comic publishing ▲other book publishing ▲magazine and periodical publishing ▲regular advertising publication ▲other printed material publishing. Companies must have operated their business for at least one year.
Companies wishing to apply can refer to the announcement section on the Mapo-gu website (www.mapo.go.kr), complete the application form and business plan, and submit them in person to the Mapo-gu Regional Economy Division.
The recruitment announcement is open until March 13, and the application period is from March 9 to March 13. The district plans to select tenant companies after a final review in March.
Selected tenant companies can use the space at a rent lower than market rates during a contract period of 2 years (up to 5 years).
