[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] It has been revealed that the 'Park Geun-hye watch' worn by Lee Man-hee, the chairman of Shincheonji Church of Jesus (Shincheonji), at a press conference is a counterfeit.
On the 2nd, Lee Geon-yong, who worked as an administrative officer in the Secretariat of Former President Park Geun-hye and is now a member of the Future United Party's organizational team, posted on his Facebook, "At the beginning of President Park's inauguration, there was a report regarding the production of the president's watch, and it was instructed to produce only one type of 'silver watch.'" He added, "Afterwards, various souvenirs such as desk clocks and wall clocks were produced, but a 'gold-plated watch' was never made."
He also stated, "To my knowledge, forging the Blue House phoenix emblem and the president's signature is subject to legal action," and commented, "Seeing such a trivial matter become controversial really shows it is Shincheonji."
Meanwhile, at a press conference held in front of the Shincheonji training center, 'Palace of Peace' in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, Chairman Lee apologized and performed a deep bow before the press. During this process, his wrist was exposed, and the commemorative watch of former President Park was captured. This led to suspicions that Chairman Lee might have used the former president's watch for political purposes.
