[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Singer Chungha and NU'EST member Hwang Min-hyun have tested negative for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
On the 1st, Chungha's agency MNH Entertainment announced through the official fan cafe, "Chungha returned to Korea on the 24th after completing her schedule in Italy," adding, "One of the staff members who accompanied her during the shoot showed symptoms of fever and was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after testing."
They continued, "We requested self-quarantine for Chungha and all accompanying personnel and conducted tests. Subsequently, one additional person tested positive and appropriate measures were taken. All other staff members tested negative, and Chungha received a negative test result on March 1st," they added.
It is known that Chungha canceled all scheduled events and entered self-quarantine at the request of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Regarding this, the agency explained, "For safety reasons, all scheduled events have been canceled for the time being, and we will continue to take all possible measures and respond diligently."
Hwang Min-hyun, who attended the Milan Fashion Week in Italy around the same time, also reportedly tested negative for COVID-19. Earlier, news had been reported that a staff member of a celebrity who attended Milan Fashion Week was confirmed positive for COVID-19.
On the 1st, Hwang Min-hyun's agency Pledis Entertainment stated, "All staff members, including Hwang Min-hyun, tested negative for COVID-19," adding, "Hwang Min-hyun is in good health, is currently self-quarantining following the recommendations of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and has not scheduled any events since returning from Milan."
