COVID-19 Case Confirmed at LG Innotek Gumi Plant

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 1st, a confirmed case of COVID-19 occurred at LG Innotek's Gumi plant, which produces camera modules for smartphones and vehicle LEDs.


LG Innotek announced that afternoon, "One employee at the Gumi 1A plant tested positive for COVID-19." The Gumi 1A plant produces camera modules.


LG Innotek explained that immediately after the confirmed case was identified, the production line at the Gumi 1A plant was shut down, and all employees working at the time were instructed to stay at home. Additionally, the entire plant was closed and disinfection measures are being carried out.


LG Innotek also instructed employees and executives who had overlapping movement paths with the confirmed case or who have symptoms such as fever, cough, difficulty breathing, or muscle pain to absolutely not come to work and to report to the company and follow the guidelines.


After completing the disinfection of the plant, LG Innotek plans to resume normal operations at the Gumi 1A plant on the 3rd of this month, after consulting with health authorities and determining it is safe.


Earlier, LG Innotek has been operating a crisis response situation room since January this year to prepare for the spread of COVID-19.


An LG Innotek official explained, "While actively cooperating with health authorities, we will prioritize the health of our employees, customers, and partners and will actively implement all necessary measures."
