[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] When the Moon Jae-in Resignation National Struggle Headquarters (Beomtu-bon) was banned from holding worship gatherings at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, they held a joint Sunday worship service at Sarang Jeil Church in Seongbuk-gu on the 1st. This church is where Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon, the general representative of Beomtu-bon, serves as the senior pastor.

Supporters of Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon waited for the worship service by sitting on chairs temporarily set up in the Sarang Jeil Church sanctuary and outdoor parking lot from around 11 a.m. They prayed for Pastor Jeon's release.

During the service, Pastor Jonathan said, "The whole world is covered by Wuhan pneumonia (novel coronavirus infection·COVID-19), and coming out to this place to hold a joint worship service is God's will," adding, "People across the country and the world are worshiping via YouTube and focusing on this place." Pastor Park Jung-seop said, "We will surely win," and prayed, "(Lord) please remove this collapsing regime and establish a free Republic of Korea so that Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon can be released from the detention center soon."

Beomtu-bon officials required worshippers attending the service to wear masks and fill out visitor logs, and Seongbuk Public Health Center staff were present in front of the church to measure the temperatures of worshippers entering.

Since last year, Beomtu-bon has held worship-style gatherings every Sunday in front of the Kyobo Building in Gwanghwamun. Even after Seoul city banned gatherings based on the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act, they forced a worship gathering on the 23rd of last month and were reported by the Seoul city authorities.
