The UK government currently enforces a 2-week self-quarantine for visitors arriving from seven countries, including Korea, if they show symptoms of COVID-19.
UK media outlet The Sun reported on the 29th (Korean time) that Son Heung-min will have to self-quarantine for 2 weeks upon returning to Tottenham.
According to the media, Tottenham decided on Son Heung-min's self-quarantine following the UK government's guidelines amid the rise in COVID-19 cases in the UK.
Regarding this, Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho explained, "The club must follow the UK government's COVID-19 response policies," adding, "Even if Son Heung-min returns from Seoul, he will not be able to join training immediately."
Earlier, Son Heung-min returned to Korea on the 19th. He underwent surgery to fix a fracture at a hospital in Seoul until the 21st.
Son Heung-min is scheduled to return to the UK soon.
Meanwhile, Son Heung-min suffered a fracture to the radius of his right forearm during the 26th round away match of the 2019-20 English Premier League season against Aston Villa FC on the 16th.
