101st Samiljeol Anniversary Ceremony, Prime Minister and Ministers of Interior and Welfare Absent

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 28th that the 101st Samiljeol (March 1st Movement) commemorative ceremony will be held with about 60 attendees, including five dignitaries excluding the Prime Minister, state council members excluding the Ministers of the Interior and Safety and Health and Welfare, political party leaders, the president and branch heads of the Liberation Association, among others.

This commemorative day carries the theme "March 1, 1920," symbolizing the revival of the spirit of the March 1st Independence Movement. It conveys a message of the Republic of Korea's strong will and the hope that was never lost even during harsh times.

In particular, to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), all individuals involved in preparing or attending the event will undergo fever checks and symptom screenings without exception, and disinfection will be conducted before and after the event.

The event will proceed in the order of the national ceremony, reading of the Declaration of Independence, commemorative speeches, commemorative videos, singing of the March 1st song, and three cheers of "Manse." During the moment of silent tribute to the patriotic martyrs and national heroes, writer Jo Jung-rae will personally read the tribute speech he has completed. The reading of the Declaration of Independence will be under the theme "Declaration of Independence Announced to the World," with each participant reading the original text from that time, followed by English, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, sign language, and an easy and correct reading of the March 1st Declaration of Independence.

The three cheers of "Manse" will be conducted following the lead of three newly realized independence heroes (Kim Gu, Yu Gwan-sun, Hong Beom-do) using AI-powered realistic digital avatars.
