[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] A 20-year-old YouTuber in his twenties who pretended to be a COVID-19 infected person on the Busan subway and was tried is now causing controversy by posting a video shouting "I am the Shincheonji leader" in the middle of downtown.
On the 28th, YouTuber Kang Mo (23) posted a video on his YouTube channel on the 26th showing him lying face down in the middle of Seomyeon, Busanjin-gu, Busan, pretending to be Lee Man-hee, the leader of Shincheonji.
In the video, Kang walks around the Seomyeon street lying face down, mocking Lee Man-hee as a dog. Kang shouted, "I am Lee Man-hee, the (Shincheonji) leader, and I lived in an orphanage," and "My mother is the 31st confirmed (COVID-19) patient."
The controversy has grown especially because the video appears to have been filmed on a busy street with many people passing by.
In addition, Kang posted related videos one after another, including "The police chief is also one of my subscribers" and "I am really the Shincheonji leader."
Previously, Kang caused controversy last month by pretending to be a COVID-19 infected patient and filming a video telling people around him on the subway to stay away from him.
The police sent Kang, who pretended to be an infected person on the subway on the 19th, to the prosecution with a non-custodial indictment opinion.
Kang, who had a pre-arrest warrant requested for pretending to be a COVID-19 patient on the subway, said at the pre-trial detention hearing held on the 11th of this month, "I will never post such a video again."
At that time, the court dismissed the arrest warrant, stating, "The suspect has a fixed job and residence, admits the charges, and the video at the time of the crime has been secured, so the possibility of evidence destruction is low," and "It is difficult to recognize the necessity or substantiality of detention at this stage."
