[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Congressman Jeong Inhwa (Gwangyang·Gokseong·Gurye) officially declared his candidacy for the 21st Gwangyang·Gokseong·Gurye National Assembly election on the 28th.
On the same day, Congressman Jeong held a press conference at the Open Public Relations Office of Gwangyang City Hall and stated, “I intend to run as an independent candidate in the 21st general election, honoring the will of the city and county residents.” He added, “As the candidate of the Gwangyang·Gokseong·Gurye city and county residents, I will trust only the residents and move forward vigorously like the horn of an independent bull.”
Congressman Jeong pledged, “To create a world where justice prevails, where ordinary people prosper, and where labor is respected, I will practice dignified politics, politics for the underprivileged, and politics that cares for people’s livelihoods.” He also promised, “I will always listen to the voices from the field to solve local issues such as strengthening the competitiveness of the region’s main industries like steel and ports, revitalizing agriculture, expanding social overhead capital, and promoting culture, tourism, and the arts.”
He continued, “I will take the lead in creating a National Assembly that does not engage in conflicts, and through close skinship and communication with the city and county residents, I will promptly handle civil complaints and local issues.” He concluded, “I will win the 21st National Assembly election, lay the cornerstone for regional development, and become the starting point for national prosperity.”
Congressman Jeong graduated from Gwangyang Okryong Elementary School, Gwangyang Middle School, Gwangju Technical High School, Chonnam National University’s Department of Public Administration, and Hanyang University Graduate School of International Tourism (Master’s). After passing the civil service exam, he entered public service, serving as Deputy Mayor of Gwangyang and Yeosu, Director of Tourism and Culture Bureau of Jeonnam Province, and was elected as a member of the 20th National Assembly, where he diligently served on the National Assembly’s Agriculture, Forestry, Livestock, Food, and Maritime Affairs Committee, the Public Administration and Security Committee, and the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts.
Meanwhile, through the press conference, Congressman Jeong attributed the achievement of securing a budget of 2.04 trillion won over the past four years, being the only Honam member to receive the NGO National Assembly Inspection Excellent Member Award for four consecutive years, and legislative accomplishments such as the enactment of the ‘Special Measures Act on Real Estate Transfer Registration’ to the residents of Gwangyang·Gokseong·Gurye, emphasizing that he is the right person for regional development.
