[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has produced and distributed 180,000 copies of a special COVID-19 bulletin containing essential information and preventive action guidelines that residents need to know, to all households and businesses.

The special issue features on the front page Jungnang-gu’s measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and on the second page, it provides tailored self-disinfection methods for individuals, households, and workplaces, along with COVID-19 preventive action guidelines that can be practiced in daily life.

The main contents include information residents are curious about, such as the status of confirmed cases and self-quarantined individuals related to COVID-19, reduction of health center services, a full survey of Shincheonji church members, disinfection and closure measures of Shincheonji religious facilities, postponement of kindergarten and elementary, middle, and high school openings, and facility closures.

Additionally, as the government raised the COVID-19 crisis level to ‘serious,’ emphasizing the importance of self-managed disinfection, the bulletin clearly explains how to make self-disinfectants using alcohol, bleach, and other sanitizers, along with precautions, making it easy for residents to follow.

The March special issue of COVID-19, distributed on the 24th, provided useful information to residents, including the ‘Emergency Support Special Measures for Small and Medium Enterprises and Small Business Owners’ in response to the COVID-19 spread, and a COVID-19 self-diagnosis checklist.

Previously, Jungnang-gu produced and distributed its own COVID-19 prevention slogan and poster, ‘Wash, Cover, Contact,’ posted Q&A on its website and social media, produced and broadcast JBN news, and provided phone ringback tones, conducting various promotional activities.

Moreover, through joint meetings with Jungnang-gu residents and related organizations, a public-private cooperative response system was established. Emergency meetings with community leaders were held to inform about COVID-19 preventive measures and to answer other questions, receiving great positive feedback from residents.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi stated, “We discuss department-specific COVID-19 countermeasures every morning at 9 a.m. emergency meetings and are working to prevent the spread by adding screening clinics within Jungnang-gu Office,” and added, “We ask all residents to strictly follow cooperation guidelines and preventive measures.”
