[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Police have stepped up efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
On the 28th, the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency announced that it will strengthen patrol activities at locations ordered to close due to their connection with Shincheonji.
This measure comes as COVID-19 continues to spread nationwide, with Gwangju Metropolitan City initiating a full investigation of Shincheonji followers and issuing administrative orders for the forced closure of Shincheonji facilities.
The targeted locations include 10 in Dongbu, 6 in Seobu, 19 in Nambu, 53 in Bukbu, and 13 in Gwangsan, totaling 101 sites.
For the closed Shincheonji facilities, patrol routes will be designated by local police stations and substations, and active patrols will be conducted.
A representative from the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency stated, “We will carry out proactive police activities to ensure that citizens do not feel anxious.”
