[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 28th that it has recently begun construction of the Job Second Act Lifelong Learning Complex Center (hereinafter referred to as the Job Second Act Center) to support second life planning such as new middle-aged jobs, social contribution, and lifelong education.
The Job Second Act Center, newly built as a four-story building after demolishing the old Seonam-dong Residents' Autonomy Center, has a job-sharing cafe on the first floor that supports job search and startup-related materials and counseling, and from the 2nd to 4th floors, there are classrooms and practice rooms for lifelong learning for residents and reemployment and rehabilitation programs for the new middle-aged.
Dong-gu plans to complete the Job Second Act Center in October and operate it as an integrated complex center for job integrated service support by operating the job-sharing cafe, lifelong learning center, and village workshop within the center to expand employment through job creation.
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, “Through the Job Second Act Center, we plan to support systematic life redesign for a new second act after retirement,” and added, “We will continue to expand job creation opportunities that can utilize the expertise and experience of retirees.”
