[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Korea Technology Group announced on the 28th that it will expand the work-from-home policy previously applied to pregnant employees as a proactive response to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Korea Technology Group has been implementing work-from-home measures for pregnant employees since the 24th, and will broaden the scope from the 2nd to the 6th of next month. This measure is a proactive response by the group companies to actively participate in government policies following the national escalation of the COVID-19 situation to the 'serious' level.
In addition to direct preventive measures such as disinfection, distribution of masks, and hygiene products like sanitizers to prevent infection, Korea Technology Group has implemented protective measures for vulnerable employees, including work-from-home for pregnant employees. Prior to this, following the recommendation of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the group has been operating a staggered commuting system by advancing departure times to reduce the risk of infection from close contact on public transportation.
Cho Hyun-sik, Vice Chairman of Korea Technology Group, stated, “As the COVID-19 situation worsens nationwide, we have decided on proactive emergency measures to ensure the health and safety of our employees and their families.”
