[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kang Juhee] Actor Lee Si-eon joined the donation campaign for the novel coronavirus but received malicious comments from some netizens.

On the afternoon of the 27th, Lee Si-eon posted on his SNS a message saying, "I hope this can be of even a little help," along with a photo showing a transfer of 1 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association. He explained the reason for his donation, saying, "Seeing Se-yoon hyung do a good deed made me want to do it too."

Previously, comedian Yoo Se-yoon revealed that he donated 10 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association together with his son.

However, some netizens left comments criticizing the amount, saying, "He’s just showing off after donating a mere 1 million won." In response to such comments, other netizens criticized, saying, "It's not the amount that matters, but the heart," and "Why should people be criticized even after donating?"

As the controversy grew, Lee Si-eon deleted the post announcing his donation. Previously, Lee Si-eon has continued his good deeds by donating to comfort women victims and national merit recipients.
