NongHyup's Full Effort in COVID-19 Support... 'Donation of 600 Million Won and ATM Fee Waivers' On the 27th, at the 'COVID-19 Medical Consultation Center' installed in the lobby of the NongHyup Central Association headquarters in Seodaemun, Lee Seong-hee, President of the NongHyup Central Association (left), is encouraging the professional nursing staff on duty.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyunjung] NongHyup is making every effort to support and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in regions facing difficulties due to the novel coronavirus infection.

NongHyup announced that on the 26th, it donated 500 million KRW to the Korean Red Cross Gyeongbuk Branch, and on the 27th, it donated 100 million KRW to the Daegu Community Chest of Korea to support recovery efforts in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas, where COVID-19 is rapidly spreading.

Additionally, to minimize face-to-face financial transactions and enhance customer convenience in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, cash withdrawal and transfer fees at automated teller machines (ATM/CD) operated by local agricultural cooperatives and NH NongHyup Bank will be waived from February 28 to March 31. The fee waiver does not apply to customers using other banks' machines, customers of other banks, or customers using brand-affiliated machines.

To prevent the spread of infection among employees, a 'COVID-19 Medical Consultation Center' has been established and operated in the lobby of the NongHyup Central Association headquarters since the 25th. Professional nursing staff are stationed there, conducting fever checks and medical interviews for entrants using thermal cameras and body temperature measuring devices.

Furthermore, in accordance with the government's revised workplace response guidelines, a flexible work system has been implemented, including staggered working hours for employees, and telecommuting is encouraged for pregnant employees, those with underlying health conditions, and parents of preschool children.

Lee Sung-hee, Chairman of NongHyup Central Association, stated, "In a situation where the entire nation is facing difficulties due to COVID-19, all NongHyup employees will unite to overcome the hardships in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions early and do their best to prevent the spread to other areas."

Meanwhile, NongHyup Central Association established an emergency comprehensive countermeasure situation room on the 25th to respond to COVID-19, operating it 24 hours a day. Daily disaster countermeasure situation reports are conducted for all affiliated corporations and system offices.
