Operating a total of 52 units including 6 mobile and 46 fixed units... Installing 20 additional mobile units this year... Convenient mobility, 24-hour sensor detection, and warning guidance for efficient illegal dumping prevention
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) will expand the installation of IoT-based talking mobile CCTVs (hereinafter mobile CCTVs) by April.
The mobile CCTV is equipped with wheels, allowing it to be moved and deployed to habitual illegal dumping areas, enabling management of multiple locations.
Additionally, powered by solar energy, it can record 24 hours a day, and when an illegal dumper is detected by the sensor, it automatically issues a warning and broadcasts multilingual announcements (English, Chinese, etc.).
Currently, the district operates a total of 52 illegal dumping surveillance cameras, including 6 mobile units and 46 fixed units.
This year, the district will invest 100 million KRW of its budget to install mobile CCTVs in 20 habitual illegal dumping locations.
The installation sites include eight neighborhoods: ▲ Sangdo 1-dong (3 locations) ▲ Sangdo 3-dong (1 location) ▲ Sadang 1-dong (3 locations) ▲ Sadang 4-dong (3 locations) ▲ Sindaebang 2-dong (3 locations) ▲ Daebang-dong (2 locations) ▲ Noryangjin 2-dong (3 locations) ▲ Sangdo 4-dong (2 locations).
The district will notify residents through administrative announcements on the website and community center bulletin boards and plans to conduct continuous inspections for maintenance.
Furthermore, the district is promoting various projects to create a pleasant city where everyone wants to live.
Since April last year, the district has increased cleaning collection vehicles and personnel to implement daily garbage collection and has reinforced illegal dumping enforcement personnel to conduct special crackdowns and guidance activities throughout the district.
Clean lighting has been installed in 100 habitual dumping areas to prevent illegal dumping during nighttime hours.
Lee Kwangjung, Director of the Cleaning Administration Division, said, “With the expanded installation of mobile CCTVs, we expect to solve the illegal dumping problem and create walkable streets,” adding, “We will continue to promote projects for mature resident awareness and a city where people want to live.”
