The 28th 'Gwanak District Resident Award' Candidate Recruitment

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) announced that it is accepting nominations for the "28th Gwanak Citizen Award" until March 31 to recognize and commend proud volunteers who have contributed to regional development and the enhancement of residents' welfare.

The "28th Gwanak Citizen Award" will select exemplary citizens or organizations who have resided or been active in Gwanak-gu for more than three years as of the award date and have made special contributions in one of seven fields: filial piety, welfare, volunteer work, education, culture and arts, environment, and safety. One recipient will be awarded in each category.

Candidates can be recommended by heads of related institutions and organizations located in Gwanak-gu, school principals, or by more than 30 residents of Gwanak-gu.

To recommend a candidate, the recommender or the representative of the recommenders must prepare a recommendation letter and supporting documents proving the candidate's achievements and submit them either in person or by mail to the community service center of the candidate's residential district or to the Autonomous Administration Division.

The district will form a merit review committee to objectively and fairly evaluate the candidates and select the final awardees. The awards ceremony is scheduled for May 23, on the day of the Gwanak Citizen Sports Festival.

Mayor Park Junhee said, "We ask for your interest and participation in recommending candidates so that we can honor those who have devoted themselves to the healthy development of the local community with the honor of the Gwanak Citizen Award, representing the will of 500,000 residents."
