[Europe Midday] COVID-19 Spread Fear... European Stocks Continue to Fall UK Down 2.42%


[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] As the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) spreads worldwide, European stock markets are plunging on the 27th.


With COVID-19 rapidly spreading across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, stock markets are falling amid concerns over economic damage.


As of 9:30 PM Korea time, the UK FTSE 100 index is trading at 6,871.78, down 2.42% from the previous trading day. Germany's DAX index has dropped 2.52% to 12,452.79, and France's CAC index has also fallen 2.73% to 5,529.21.


Italy's benchmark FTSE MIB index is trading at 22,926.85, down 2.12% during the same period.


Major European stock markets showed a downward trend in early trading and the trend continues.
