[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Suga (real name Min Yoon-gi), a member of the group BTS, donated 100 million won to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and support victims.


The Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced on the 27th, "Suga donated 100 million won to prevent COVID-19 and aid recovery efforts."


Suga is known to have donated 100 million won with the intention of helping his hometown Daegu. The donation will be used for COVID-19 prevention and containment efforts.


Meanwhile, as COVID-19 spreads nationwide, a series of donations from celebrities such as singer IU, actors Son Ye-jin, Kim Hye-soo, and Gong Yoo are continuing.


On the same day, IU donated 100 million won to the international relief and development NGO Good Neighbors and donated 3,000 medical protective suits worth 100 million won to the Korean Medical Association.


According to the Medical Association, IU’s donation was made to help support the hard work of medical professionals, even if just a little.
