[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 334, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,595. This is the highest number of additional cases recorded overnight since the counting began.
As of 9 a.m. today, the Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that 334 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed compared to 4 p.m. the previous day. Daegu and Gyeongbuk saw a sharp increase of 311 confirmed cases overnight, accounting for about 93% of the total new cases.
By region, Daegu reported the highest number with 307 cases, followed by Seoul (6), Gyeongbuk (4), Gyeonggi (4), Chungnam (4), Daejeon (3), Ulsan (2), Chungbuk (2), and Gyeongnam (2).
