[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Hana Card announced on the 27th that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a joint business based on a point platform with Linkpluson, an innovative fintech startup venture company.
Through this MOU, Hana Card plans to link the "point-based check card," designated as an innovative financial service by the Financial Services Commission in October last year, with Linkpluson's "platform for converting and integrating points about to expire." This will allow customers to convert all expiring points from financial companies they hold into Linkpluson's integrated points and freely use them at all domestic and international credit card merchants.
An Kwang-jae, Head of Hana Card's Personal Business Division, stated, "We will promote partnerships with various point-based platform operators to expand the payment versatility of the point-based check card and provide more convenient services to customers."
Meanwhile, Hana Card's "point-based check card" is a project designated as an innovative financial service by the Financial Services Commission. It is the first in Korea to be issued linked to a check card using only the customer's point account without a bank payment account. It can be used at all domestic and international credit card merchants. Hana Card is preparing to launch it in the first half of this year.
