Starbucks Releases Mug, Tumbler, and Card Featuring Mugunghwa for Samiljeol

Starbucks Releases Mug, Tumbler, and Card Featuring Mugunghwa for Samiljeol

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Starbucks Coffee Korea announced on the 27th that it will newly introduce the ‘20 Mugunghwa Mug 340㎖’, ‘20 SS Mugunghwa Troy Tumbler 355㎖’, and ‘2020 Mugunghwa Card’, inspired by the Mugunghwa flower, at stores nationwide to commemorate Samiljeol.

The ‘20 Mugunghwa Mug’ (18,000 KRW) emphasizes luxury with its rim and artwork lines expressed in real gold, and features a clean ceramic product reminiscent of white porcelain, highlighting its distinctive clear feel. The ‘20 SS Mugunghwa Troy Tumbler’ (31,000 KRW) is a stainless steel tumbler designed with gold lines and a modern reinterpretation of traditional hanbok patterns, emphasizing an elegant look.

Both products feature designs expressing the beautiful and elegant appearance of blooming Mugunghwa flowers together, with the phrase ‘Mugunghwa Our National Flower 2020’ engraved on the back of each item to inspire patriotism. However, sales are excluded from some MD non-selling stores, and the products are limited in quantity and will be discontinued once sold out.

To commemorate the release of this Samiljeol MD, Starbucks will donate 100 million KRW from the sales of the two products to a scholarship fund supporting university students who are descendants of independence activists on the upcoming Gwangbokjeol, adding significance to this Samiljeol MD and continuing activities to protect cultural heritage in the future.

Additionally, on the same day, Starbucks will introduce the ‘2020 Mugunghwa Card’, a paper-based Starbucks card made to replace existing plastic cards. The Mugunghwa Card can be initially charged with a minimum of 5,000 KRW.
