Criticism of Future United Party Recruitment

North Korea belatedly harshly criticized the United Future Party on the 26th for recruiting Tae Yong-ho (Tae Gumin), former North Korean embassy official in the UK, ahead of the April 15 general election.
The external propaganda outlet 'Meari' published an article titled "Trash Recruitment Game by Confrontation Fanatics" on the same day, stating that the United Future Party recruited former embassy official Tae following defector Ji Seong-ho (39), and said, "Driving such human trash as the vanguard of inter-Korean confrontation is an intolerable challenge to the nation's aspiration for unification."
This is the first time a North Korean media outlet has mentioned the United Future Party's recruitment of former official Tae.
Meari claimed about former official Tae, "He is a despicable scoundrel who committed all sorts of dirty crimes such as embezzlement of state funds and statutory rape of minors in our republic, fled to escape the stern judgment of the law, and is trash that cannot be considered human."
Tae, who defected to South Korea in August 2016 while working at the North Korean embassy in the UK, was recruited earlier this month as the United Future Party's first strategic nomination (priority recommendation) talent.
North Korea had issued similar criticisms immediately after Tae's defection to South Korea.
On August 20, 2016, the North Korean state media Korean Central News Agency stated in a commentary, "The defector (former official Tae) embezzled a large amount of state funds, sold state secrets, and even committed statutory rape of minors, and was already summoned in June for a criminal investigation."
It added, "He should have been legally punished for the crimes he committed, but by abandoning the homeland and his parents and siblings who raised and supported him and fleeing to live alone, he revealed himself as human trash without even a shred of basic loyalty, conscience, or morality that a human should have."
Earlier, on the 13th, North Korea also criticized Ji Seong-ho as a "criminal who caused social disturbances."
However, the authenticity of these claims has not been verified.
