[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Actress Kim Min-hee, who returned with "The Woman Who Ran," expressed her trust in director Hong Sang-soo.

On the 25th (local time), "The Woman Who Ran," invited to the competition section at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany, was unveiled. The first official event was attended by director Hong Sang-soo, lead actress Kim Min-hee, and Seo Young-hwa.

On this day, Kim Min-hee said about working with director Hong, "I tried my best to memorize and deliver the script exactly as the director wrote it, believing that I could perform meaningful acting. When I deviated too much from the intention, the director corrected me well."

Director Hong explained about the film's title, "I did not define it precisely. It can be said that it is about running away from oppression or dissatisfaction, but I stopped at the stage before defining the meaning of the film."

He added, "Before filming, I did not decide on the overall structure in advance. After shooting the first chapter of the film, what I wanted became a little clearer."

He continued, "I did not want to artificially create meaning. I followed the surface appearances and the flow of simple dialogues."

Director Hong's 24th new work, "The Woman Who Ran," follows Gam-hee (played by Kim Min-hee), who meets three friends from her past through two scheduled meetings and one chance encounter while her husband, whom she has never been apart from since marriage, is on a business trip. The film stars Kim Min-hee, Seo Young-hwa, Song Seon-mi, Kim Sae-byeok, Kwon Hae-hyo, and Shin Seok-ho.

Meanwhile, "The Woman Who Ran," first screened at the press screening at Berlinale Palast, the main venue of the Berlin Film Festival on the 25th, will be officially screened until the 28th. It is scheduled to be released domestically this spring.
