Support of 20,300 Child-Sized Protective Masks to 48 Kindergartens and Schools... Private Kindergarten Association Meeting Hosted by Dobong District Mayor on the 25th
Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu (center), is handing masks to the executives of the Private Kindergarten Association on the 25th.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) will provide 20,300 KF94 children's protective masks to a total of 48 locations, including 24 kindergartens, 23 elementary schools, and 1 special school in the district, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect young children's respiratory systems from particulate harmful substances.
Currently, Dobong-gu has 24 kindergartens with approximately 2,470 students. Although kindergartens are conducting regular disinfection and checking the temperatures of attending children as part of their own infection prevention measures, the district has discussed countermeasures and started mask support to create a safer environment for children against COVID-19.
Additionally, on the 6th, the district urgently provided 2,000 masks and 90 hand sanitizers to 18 local children's centers and is operating emergency care institutions to address care gaps for dual-income families.
Moreover, on the 18th, the district urgently supplied 22,800 protective masks for children and staff, as well as 1,950 hand sanitizers, to 229 local daycare centers.
On the 28th, an additional 60,000 children's protective masks are scheduled to be distributed.
On the 25th, Mayor Lee Dong-jin of Dobong-gu held a meeting with executives of the Dobong-gu Private Kindergarten Association to discuss measures for delaying kindergarten openings due to COVID-19 and to prevent the spread of the virus.
Mayor Lee Dong-jin stated, "To prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community and ensure the safety of children from COVID-19, the district will respond with full efforts and will not spare support to prevent any blind spots in childcare caused by COVID-19."
