On the 21st, participants including District Mayor Moon Seok-jin (third from the left) held a meeting at the 'Seoul City-Ministry of Education Joint Meeting' held in the Planning Situation Room of Seoul City Hall.
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) has decided to support Chinese international students from local universities in moving from Incheon Airport or Gimpo Airport to their accommodations starting from the 25th.
Seodaemun-gu's transportation plan aims to minimize the number of unspecified contacts by encouraging incoming Chinese international students to use call vans instead of buses or subways, and to support the cost of this service.
The district sent text messages through local universities to Chinese international students informing them about the 'Call Van Fare Support.' Chinese students who receive the message can use a call van at the airport and submit the receipt to their university. The university collects these and forwards them to the district office, which then transfers the corresponding amount to the students' accounts.
Mayor Moon Seok-jin of Seodaemun-gu stated, "We initially considered operating shuttle buses, but since the number of Chinese international students varies by university and individual accommodation locations and arrival times differ, we decided to recommend call van use and support the fare."
Earlier, on the 21st, Mayor Moon attended the 'Seoul City-Ministry of Education Joint Meeting' held at the Seoul City Hall Planning Situation Room, where he proposed active transportation and management measures for incoming Chinese international students.
