Mallorca announced the acquisition of Ki Sung-yueng on their official website on the 25th (local time).

Mallorca introduced him by saying, "Ki Sung-yueng will be with Mallorca until June 30. Ki Sung-yueng played 186 matches in the English Premier League, scoring 15 goals. He has participated in the World Cup three times as a member of the Korean national team and also competed in the 2012 London Olympics. He has received the Korea Football Association (KFA) Player of the Year award three times."

On the 20th, Ki Sung-yueng's agency, 'C2 Global,' stated, "Ki Sung-yueng will depart on the 21st to finalize contract negotiations and undergo a medical check with a Spanish first division club."

Ki Sung-yueng, who parted ways with Newcastle in the English Premier League last month, negotiated with FC Seoul and Jeonbuk Hyundai as a free agent (FA), but the talks broke down, and his return to the K League was canceled.

Meanwhile, Mallorca is trying to protect key defender Mart?n Valjent from Valencia, who is pushing for an emergency center-back signing due to Ezequiel Garay's injury.
