Travel Alert Raised from Level 1 to 3
Self-Quarantine Required for Students Visiting Korea
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The French government has advised its citizens to refrain from traveling due to concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea.
On the 25th, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs raised the travel alert level for South Korea from Level 1 (Green, Normal) to Level 3 (Yellow, Travel Caution). The recommendation is to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary.
France's country-specific travel advisory levels range from Level 1 to Level 2 (Red, Caution Advised), Level 3, and Level 4 (Strong Travel Caution Recommended).
Separately, precautionary measures at the Ministry of Education level have also been implemented. A notice was sent to schools of all levels the previous day, mandating a 14-day self-quarantine for students or their families who have recently visited South Korea.
