A 42-year-old man residing in Sanggye-dong confirmed infected on the 19th during sexual harassment prevention training at his workplace in Mapo-gu by a confirmed case who was the sexual harassment prevention instructor
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] A 42-year-old man living in Sanggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul, has become a topic of discussion after reportedly contracting COVID-19 while attending sexual harassment prevention training organized by his company.
On the 25th at around 5 PM, Oh Seung-rok, the mayor of Nowon-gu, posted on his Facebook, expressing his deep regret by saying, "I am very sorry to share this unfortunate news."
According to Mayor Oh, the 42-year-old man residing in Sanggye-dong was infected by a confirmed case who was the sexual harassment prevention training instructor at his workplace in Mapo-gu on the 19th.
The confirmed case experienced symptoms of fever and cold sweats due to muscle pain on the morning of the 23rd, which continued until early dawn on the 24th. Following consultation with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (1339), the individual visited the Nowon-gu Public Health Center around 1 PM on the 24th for specimen collection and testing, and was finally confirmed positive around 1 PM on the 25th.
This confirmed case is known to have visited Kim Jae-myeon Internal Medicine located near Madeul Station between 9:30 and 10 AM on the 24th, and Mission Pharmacy in the same building at 10:30 AM on the 24th.
Nowon-gu announced that the confirmed case and his wife have been quarantined and will be promptly transferred to a government-designated hospital.
Additionally, epidemiological investigators will conduct necessary investigations and measures regarding visitors and medical staff who came into contact with the confirmed case at the hospital and pharmacy, and will inform the public of the results.
