[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] A Mongolian man who was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and was undergoing isolation treatment at Myeongji Hospital in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, died on the 25th. He is the 11th death among COVID-19 confirmed cases and the first case involving a foreigner.
The man had chronic liver disease and end-stage renal failure and was receiving care at his home in Byeollae-dong, Namyangju City. On the morning of the 24th around 6 a.m., his underlying conditions worsened, and he was transferred to Myeongji Hospital in Goyang.
Afterward, a COVID-19 test was conducted at Myeongji Hospital, which confirmed a positive result, and he was isolated and treated in a negative pressure room. It is reported that he experienced two cardiac arrests during this process.
