[Afternoon Poem] Rhythm 0 / Na Hee-deok

Here lie 72 objects.

Rose, perfume, bread, wine, feather, honey, scissors, nail, iron rod, surgical scalpel, pistol, one bullet, whip, chain, needle, hammer, saw, lipstick, scarf, mirror, glass, camera, book, hairpin...

These objects belong entirely to you.

Only the fear and pain of taking risks belong to me.

Self, is there an object that draws you?

Choose anything according to the fear and desire within you.

With the objects on the table, you can do anything to me.

You can cut my clothes or point a gun at my head.

You can stab me with rose thorns or spray perfume on me.

You can wipe my tears

touch my breasts or kiss me

stab a knife inside my thigh or wound my neck and drink the blood.

You can hurt or kill me, and I cannot help it.

Of course, it is not that I ever wanted to die or wished to die.

However, time is limited.

I wonder what I will look like six hours later.

On the silent body like a statue,

the traces left by your actions, that is me.

Yes, I wanted to go to the extreme.

How far can we go

how hot can we get

how cruel can we be

how miserable can we become

At two o'clock in the morning, the performance ends,

I begin to move like a doll released from a spell.

At that moment, everyone starts to run away.

In the early morning when no kind of rhythm is allowed.

[Afternoon Poem] Rhythm 0 / Na Hee-deok

■ 'Rhythm 0' is a performance piece by Marina Abramovi?, and the content of the performance is exactly as written in the poem. That is, 72 objects such as "rose, perfume, bread, wine" were placed on the table, and the audience was allowed to do "anything" to Abramovi? with them. At first, they hesitated. Then they put flowers on her. But as time passed, they tore her clothes with knives, stabbed her body with rose thorns, scribbled with lipstick, cut her neck and drank the blood, and even pointed a gun at her head. Of course, there were also those who wiped her tears. Ah, how cruel humans are! I am no exception either. ? Poet Chaesangwoo
